Safeguarding Policy
Company Name: SK Levels
Last updated: 31/05/2026
SK Levels Tuition is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive online learning environment for all students.
This policy explains how SK Levels aims to protect students, especially those under the age of 18, during online tutoring sessions.
1. Our Commitment
SK Levels Tuition believes that every student has the right to learn in a safe and positive environment.
We are committed to:
-
Treating students with respect
-
Maintaining professional boundaries
-
Communicating appropriately
-
Protecting student wellbeing
-
Responding properly to safeguarding concerns
-
Creating a calm and supportive learning space
2. Online Tutoring Safety
All sessions are delivered online. For students under 18, parents or guardians should be aware of when sessions are taking place.
Students should attend lessons from a suitable learning environment, ideally a quiet shared study space rather than a bedroom where possible. The NSPCC advises that tutoring arrangements should be agreed safely and that parents should understand how online tuition will take place.
3. Communication With Students
For students under 18, main communication should be with the parent or guardian wherever possible.
SK Levels will avoid unnecessary direct personal communication with students outside of tutoring sessions. Where communication with a student is needed, it should be appropriate, professional and related to their learning.
SK Levels will not contact students through personal social media accounts.
4. Session Conduct
During sessions, the tutor and student are expected to behave respectfully and professionally.
Inappropriate language, behaviour, bullying, harassment or unsafe conduct will not be accepted.
SK Levels reserves the right to end a session if behaviour is inappropriate or if there is a concern about safety.
5. Recording Sessions
Sessions should not be recorded by either party unless this has been clearly agreed in advance.
If recording is ever required, consent should be obtained from the parent or guardian where the student is under 18.
6. Parent/Guardian Involvement
For students under 18, parents/guardians are encouraged to:
-
Know when sessions are taking place
-
Ensure the student has a safe and suitable place to study
-
Be available nearby if needed
-
Raise any concerns promptly
-
Provide relevant information that may help support the student
7. Safeguarding Concerns
If a safeguarding concern arises, SK Levels will take it seriously.
Depending on the nature of the concern, this may involve:
-
Recording the concern carefully
-
Speaking with the parent or guardian, where appropriate
-
Seeking safeguarding advice
-
Contacting relevant authorities if a child may be at risk of harm
If there is an immediate risk of harm, emergency services should be contacted.
8. Confidentiality
Information shared during tutoring will be treated confidentially unless there is a safeguarding concern, legal obligation or risk of harm.
In those situations, information may need to be shared with appropriate people or authorities.
9. Professional Boundaries
SK Levels will maintain appropriate boundaries with students at all times.
Tutoring relationships should remain professional and focused on learning, academic support and student progress.
